How we collect the dataHow do I get started?
Create an account, connect GitHub or GitLab, and choose a public or private repository. Its connection starts the scan. Review the matched vendors and your alert settings. No credit card required.
What happens when I request a paid plan?
We will follow up by email about access to Pro or Enterprise. Sending a request does not start a subscription, charge your card, or change your Free plan.
Can I connect a private repository on Free?
Yes. Public and private repositories use the same setup on every plan. Connect a GitHub or GitLab account with access to the repository you want to scan.
What does the scan tell me?
The scan matches packages in your dependency files to vendors. A match is a starting point to review; it does not prove that a vendor is used in production. Vendor reports and optional SDK measurements help with the next investigation.
Does a paid plan guarantee SLA credits?
No. A service credit depends on your contract, plan, eligible spend, and qualifying evidence. CheckUpstream helps prepare claims for supported terms; you review and submit them, and the vendor decides whether to approve them.
